Music at SHSB
School concerts at Southend High School for Boys, showcase the remarkable talent, dedication and enthusiasm of our student musicians. The Music Department offers a wide range of ensembles, bands, choirs and orchestras, providing opportunities for students of all abilities to perform and develop their musical skills.
The school holds two concerts a year, a Spring concert and a Christmas concert. Performances range from beginners taking their first steps in music-making to senior students performing at an advanced level.
These events celebrate not only musical excellence but also teamwork, leadership and creativity, bringing together pupils, staff, families and the wider community. Through performances ranging from seasonal concerts and remembrance services to Big Band events and special charity fundraisers, our concerts play a vital role in the vibrant cultural life of the school.
