Our school day

The school day at SHSB runs from 08:30 to 15:30, with lessons split across three periods, two short breaks, and form time.

Lesson structure

How lessons are structured

Periods 1 and 2 may run as a double lesson on the same subject, or split into two separate one-hour lessons with a change of subject between A and B.

Hours per week

The school week consists of 35 hours for pupils. This includes break and lunch times alongside teaching time. It does not include optional before or after-school provision.

Outside of formal lessons, pupils have access to an extensive enrichment programme including academic clubs, sports fixtures, performing arts rehearsals, and house competitions. See our Enrichment section for full details.
