SHSB Charitable Trust

Securing the long-term future of SHSB

The SHSB Charitable Trust exists to help secure the long-term future of Southend High School for Boys. Established as an independent registered charity, the Trust brings together parents, alumni, staff, local businesses and friends of the school to provide vital financial support that goes beyond government funding.

Payroll giving example

The tax-efficient way to give

Please find below an example relating to payroll giving relating to a donation of £20.

20% Taxpayer

A £20 donation will cost you £16 because the tax relief of 20% (or £4) is effectively covered by the tax you would have paid on that amount.

40% Taxpayer
£12
Costs you
£20

A £20 donation will cost you £12 as the tax relief of 40% (or £8) is effectively covered by the tax you would have paid on that amount.

Please speak with your employer if you want to support our charity in this way to see if they have a payroll giving scheme in place - some even match your donation! You will need to share the name of the charity (Southend High School for Boys Charitable Trust) and the registered charity number (1211479).
