EPQ
The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is a highly respected standalone qualification that gives Sixth Form students the opportunity to explore a topic of personal interest in greater depth. Equivalent to half an A Level and worth up to 28 UCAS tariff points, the EPQ enables students to develop the independent research, critical thinking, project management and presentation skills that are highly valued by universities and employers.
What EPQ involves
At SHSB, students choose and investigate a topic beyond the scope of their main subjects, producing an extended research project supported by a production log and a formal presentation. The qualification encourages intellectual curiosity, academic independence and a passion for learning, while providing excellent preparation for university study, degree apprenticeships and future careers.
